The client wanted a new brand identity creating for their start-up, WildGear, who supply dog accessories made for adventures in the great outdoors.
For this brief I also threw in a short brand pack alongside the new Logotype and Logo-mark. For a brand that is based around the natural world, I created a new brand look that looks bold and ready to take to the dirt paths, mountains or forests.
Initial Ideas -
The first priority of this project was the logotype, which would assist with the design of the logo-mark. I had a play around with a few different type styles and different nature influenced treatments I could apply to them.
The final Logotype -
After consultation with the client, we decided to go with the bold capitalised type from the top right corner, with a slight alteration to the W.
Logo-mark, with an alpine twist -
I decided to take the 'W' from the Logotype and as the brand is based around outdoor walks and a passion for nature, I decided to add the illusion of a mountain to in the central section.
Consistency is key -
After the Logo type and mark were finished, I then created a short brand pack for the client, including guidelines on how to use the branding, typography and a new limited colour palette for the brand. When starting a new brand it's important to have a base set of rules for how you appear to your customers and peers, keeping a brands aesthetic consistent adds an element of professionalism and a more refined look.
