The client was looking for a logo for a new high-end kitchen and worktops supplier, Viceroy Worktops.
The brief was to create something with a premium, modern look, with an element of regality to it. After exploring various different avenues (see further down the page), I decide to use a 'V' with an almost Roman column-like aesthetic. With the added touch of a branch to add to the classical/regal theme. The typography used to accompany the logo-mark is simple, clean and modern. The two marry together to make a contemporary logo, that stands out above some of the more dated looking logos in the sector.
 Idea exploration -
I decided to explore two distinct pathways for the theme/inspiration of the logo. First of all the regal route, putting a modern twist on some classical icons. And also a direction using the shapes and forms of a Viceroy butterfly as inspiration for the logomark.
Colour palette exploration -
As the client had no predetermined colour palette or any particular colour they wanted to represent the brand, I was given freedom to come up with some limited colour palette options for them. These ranged from bright and modern to fairly muted and knocked back.
Consistency is key -
As with previous projects, I also supplied the client with a short brand pack, introducing the logo, laying out different variations of the logo and their uses, brand typography and the full breakdowns for the new colour palette.
