Midlands Automotive Customs are a start-up looking to launch in 2020, providing car wrapping, window tinting and detailing.
I was tasked with coming up with a logo that represented both the industry they're entering into, but also trying to stand apart from the "boy racer" image that comes with customising cars. We worked together to come up with a logo that was simple, modern and more appealing to the high-end customer base they are trying to bring in.
Initial ideas and Development -
During this project, myself and the client explored many different ways to use the letterforms that make up the brand name. And as can happen in some projects, the simplest logos turn out to be the ones that are used, in this case it was actually our starting point that made the final cut, albeit with the addition of the brand colours.
The final outcome -
As I said above, the client ended up liking one of the earliest ideas the most. So I added a flash of colour to the 'A' and gave it a brushed steel look to go along with Automotive aesthetic.
A short brand pack to get them on the road -
To accompany the new logo design, I always try to go above and beyond for the client. Supplying them a short guide on how to use the new logo on different backgrounds and in different situations. Also supplying a colour palette, complete with breakdowns, which makes it easier to keep any further branding consistent with the logo. In this case I separated the brushed steel of the logo into two shades of grey, with the bright orange as an accent colour. Finally, I threw in a typography pairing for the brand to use that compliments the logo.
