Tasty and dangerous, the idea of this logo was to take inspiration from wild west bandits, but keep it fun and cartoony at the same time.
The typography is smooth, with a glazed look inspired by the donuts themselves. And to accompany the type element of the logo I also created a brand character, the infamous leader of the donut bandits himself. Hell-raising, gun-blazing, donut glazing. His guns might not be real but he means business. I thought it would be rude not to add a 'dough' pun based tagline for the company too. Overall I wanted the branding to be fun, clean and minimalist, but with lots of personality.
Typography only logo -
The main logo and tagline used together, accompanied by some sprinkles to frame it all in.
The brand character -
The "donut bandit" himself, this character will act both alone as a logo and in combination with the type. But I wanted to ensure he had a bold enough look and identity to be a recognisable element of the branding without any written cues.
Initials only logo -
I also decided to design an initials version of the Donut Bandits logo, bringing the essence of the donut bandit character through into the lettering. The 'D' on its own can work as an icon for web or can be printed onto small areas where the full logo wouldn't fit.
Single colour variants -
All formats and versions of the logo were also made into single colour variants, I designed the character so that he can be used as a stamp or in single colour printing without losing any of his personality.
